What’s the deal with the 19north.tv announcement???

For weeks there has been mention of a major announcement at 19north.tv. An announcement, that Zack has compared in magnitude to the Steelers winning the Super Bowl. And for weeks, the announcement has been postponed. So now there is hype around said announcement. I don’t know about you, but when someone hypes something, I’m afraid of being disappointed.

I just have to say, in this case, the hype is worth it. This is a great announcement. Do I know what it is? Yes. Will I tell you? No. Why do I get to know and you don’t? Because being a leader for 19north.tv has it’s benefits. Want some benefits? You got to be a benefit before you get a benefit so get hooked up!

There is only one way for you to discover what the announcement is, and that is by coming to the big reveal at 19north.tv this Saturday at 8:30 PM. I’m freakin pumped!

Walls

We all have walls that we build up in our lives. All of us. Sometimes we build them intentionally to protect us from being hurt by others and sometimes we build them to hide things about ourselves that we don’t want others to see. Sometimes we don’t even know we’re building them, but as life goes on, our choices may be building walls that we never intended to build. Walls by definition keep two things apart. The problem of course, is when we realize that we’ve built these walls and we want to move beyond them. Sometimes, walls need to be broken down.

The world is crazy and sometimes it’s hard to see God at work in the world. This weekend at 19 North, God showed us what he’s doing in and through a group of 20-somethings as they shared about the walls that God has broken down in their lives. Here’s a short list of testimonies that people shared through just a few simple words on two sides of a piece of cardboard:

- sexual abuse

- alcohol & drug addictions

- self-hate to the point of attempted suicide

These are people that I know and it’s so easy to forget where they came from because there is no trace of those walls left in their life. Hopefully, we’ll be posting a video from this weekend in the next day or so and I can provide a link. In the meantime listen to this song by Phil Wickham. My favorite line in the song is “when blood and water hit the ground, walls we couldn’t move came crashing down”. That’s the power of the true love found only in Jesus.
